Item Description
5.5x8.5" thin newsprint folded flier. Front features image of marchers from the torso to the knee with a young African American girl's face at left and text at top "A Call For A Petition Campaign And Youth March For Integrated Schools... Washington D.C. Saturday, April 18, 1959." Interior has text giving history of school integration and a retelling of a similar March held the previous year. At conclusion is a list of "Chairman" including; Daisy Bates, Harry Belafonte, Ralph Bunche, Martin Luther King, Clarence Pickett, Sidney Poitier, A. Phillip Randolph, Jackie Robinson, Norman Thomas, Roy Wilkins and more. Some minor handling wear and toning consistent with age. VF. In remarkable condition considering the fragile material and a truly rare survivor.
