Item Description
Pair of Wallace portrait buttons from 1948 that are 1.75" and 1.25" respectively and are Exc. displaying Mint. 4-1/2x7-3/8" thin newsprint paper folded with quote at top and Henry Wallace facsimile signature beneath. Features image of a young African American with pen in hand lost in thought over an open book. Additional text at bottom reads "Jim Crow Blights The Lives Of Negro And White Americans Alike. For Prejudice Corrupts" and continues on interior. Six tiny holes and three small chips off paper at left edge. Additionally a 2.5" separation at spine on lower half of flier. Good/VG. A classic early civil rights image and given the fragile material a rare survivor.
