Our research found a 1908 incorporation filing in North Carolina for this group and a newspaper article from North Carolina highlighting "Many New Corporations" including the "National Afro-American Civic League Of Wadesboro. Object, to improve home conditions of Negroes And Work With The Whites In The Development Of Industries." A rare early Civil Rights button that has only minor surface wear. Exc. displaying Mint.
