Item Description
Sizes are 7" to 9.5" with many having brass tassel fringes. In total there are four from Pennsylvania, three from Maryland, one from Georgia, one from Vermont, one from New Hampshire, and one from Greater Kansas City. All have celluloid hangers and ten have suspended celluloids. Eight of the eleven have reverses designed in silver on black for use at union member funerals. Most are VF or better with these few exceptions. Fourth item in first photo with "Engineer" ribbon has archival tape repairs to the underside of the ribbon where the suspended celluloid joins it. This shows very little from the front. Last item in first photo has a tiny bit of missing fringe at the bottom. The reverse of the suspended celluloid showing a mail car has the black and gold union logo of the United States Railway Mail Service Mutual Benefit Association. This piece is from 1898. In the second photo the first "Trainmen" ribbon has a little moisture stain on the fabric near the top and the last item in that photo has slight fabric thread separation across the word "Greater" at the bottom. Many have gorgeous color hangers or suspensions. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
