Item Description
Each is 7/8" and both have St. Louis Button Co. papers. The "Smith And Robinson" jugate has a total of five hairline cello cracks. A single line crossing both of their foreheads shows most while the others largely just catch reflected light. In spite of the damage the button is 100% stain free, has unfaded color and exceptionally high gloss. There is almost no surface wear. The single portrait button has barely seen vertical hairline crack running top to bottom just touching the right side of his face. The red panel below is faded. There is a pinpoint brown dot on his chin and three others along the extreme rim edge. The jugate is Hake #2007 with 2004 guide value of $685 while the single picture is Hake #26 with guide value of $240. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
