Item Description
11-3/8" tall solid plaster figure features great full body depictions of Maggie, who stands holding rolling pin w/her arm draped around Jiggs' shoulder. Jiggs stand w/hands in pockets. Complete w/separate wooden cigar in Jiggs' mouth. Front of base has faint "Armistice" stamp, dating this piece to around the end of World War I, c. late 1918. Underside has partially illegible copyright and "Ye Towne Gossip" maker name stamp. A few small scattered paint flakes w/some touching-up to Maggie's arm and breast. Small paint flakes are more moderate on backs. Statue has some lt. aging and scattered dust soiling, but still Fine/VF overall. Among the nicest Maggie and Jiggs items we've ever seen. Very rare and the only example we've seen in our 49 years. Eric Renner Collection and the example shown on page 54 of his book "American Disguise."
