Item Description
14x16.25x45" tall wire rack for DC Comics. c. early 1940s. Rack has seven slots designed to hold comic books, six of which have 2x4-1/8" tin litho attachment w/DC Comics comic book titles - "Detective Comics, Adventure Comics, Superman, Flash Comics, All-American Comics" and "Action Comics" names. Back of one of these attachments has "Made By Central Wire Frame Co. Inc. New York N.Y." text. Bottom center has additional 1x4-3/8" tin litho attachment reading "This Display Rack Is To Be Used Only For Magazines Indicated Above." Painted wire rack has some wear and scattered moderate oxidation w/upper portion of rack having more obvious oxidation. "Detective Comics" attachment has moderate surface oxidation to entire backside and about 40% of front. Rest show scattered aging/wear w/"Adventure Comics" having 1/8x.5" flake. Good/VG overall. These early DC racks are very rare and highly desirable.
