Item Description
1.5" button pictures Grange with word "Souvenir" beneath the celluloid covering and a gold decal applied over top of the covering reading "Souvenir Of San Francisco, Cal." Reverse has .75" line of paper and celluloid which did not fold beneath the collet but it all lays flat and really causes no distortion when viewed from the front. Front has just a couple of pinpoint grey dots on the background. Full gloss. VF. This rare button is from the January 24, 1926 Pacific coast game against the San Francisco Tigers. The Chicago Bears lost 9-4, their only loss of the nine game tour. The public's curiosity about Grange and pro football caused many sports writers to increase their attention to the sport and brought pro-ball much increased interest. The button is rare and with this customizing decal all the more so.
