Item Description
First is 1.75" from Bolivar, N.Y. suspending convention ribbon naming Salamanca, NY and a 1915 convention date. Lower ribbon suspends second celluloid with Indian in elaborate head dress and clothing. The upper button has a pair of tiny age dots on extreme edge at two and five o'clock otherwise condition is glossy and NM displaying Mint. Next is 1.5" button featuring rarely seen back paper of Louis Helwig of Chicago plus a fixed horizontal bar pin. Color graphics of fireman on ladder rescuing an infant with surrounding text "Elkhorn, June 19, 21, 1901/Tournament." While we've seen this design, never in this size, coloration and for this event. NM. Last is another gorgeous 1.75" issued for the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Dept. having a field day, July 20, 1940. Our photo may show some age tone on top edge but that was surface dirt now removed and the button is NM displaying Mint, complete with its W&H paper. An exceptionally nice group of fire buttons.
