Item Description
The first two buttons are c. 1910 and the third c. 1952. Group begins with gorgeous color 1.75" showing the Great Lakes steamship "Cleveland & Buffalo" of the "C & B Line" with slogan "Connecting Cleveland And Buffalo 'While You Sleep'". There are a pair of tiny 1/16" craze lines barely seen without magnification just above the paddlewheel towards the stern of the boat. The button still displays beautifully and with high gloss. VF. Next without back paper is 1.5" issued by "White Boat Co. Minneapolis, Minn." with additional text "As Sure To Run As The Tide" and naming "Works At Menomonie, Wis." NM displaying Mint. Last is high quality real photo button picturing "U.S. United States/Flagship U.S. Lines." Pin suspends 4" ribbon and brass luster white metal anchor inscribed "USN." Tiny bit of luster loss but the celluloid is with high gloss and displays Mint. This ship launched in 1952 was the largest ocean liner constructed entirely in the United States and the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic in either direction. The ship was retired in 1969.
