Item Description
Brass ring with adjustable bands showing a full figure batter on each side with crossed baseball bats below. Ring top has high relief baseball with text "Base Ball Centennial" surrounding high relief ball which carries the dates "1839-1939." The ring was first issued in 1938 as a General Mills premium for the Jack Armstrong radio show. Company recorded only 46,501 distributed. The next year Quaker cereals used the remaining supply as a premium in the Sunday newspapers. We've had about seven examples in our 49 years. Superb luster with just the very tiniest loss from the end of the bottom outer band.
