Item Description
Original Disney-illustrated (featuring images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse engaged in various activities) paper-covered cardboard box is scarce version w/all Disney images (most were generic). Scattered lt. aging and wear including tape repair to two lid corners and extensive tape repairs to box bottom. VG but still nice for display. Complete w/die-cut foil-covered insert and matching die-cut lid insert. Box contains 20-piece china tea set consisting of 3.75" tall teapot (w/lid), 2-3/8" tall sugar container (w/lid), 1-7/8" tall creamer, 4" dia. handled serving platter, five 3.75" dia. plates, six 3.25" dia. saucers and six 1-1/8" tall by 2.25" dia. handled cups. Teapot is marked "Made In Japan" w/"Mickey Mouse" name while sugar and creamer do not feature Mickey's name. Others are unmarked. 1930s. Pieces bear images of Mickey as waiter, w/balloons, w/toy airplane, playing hockey and ice skating as well as image of Minnie Mouse sitting on fence. Teapot features Mickey as waiter serving Minnie, who is seated at table. Set is missing one plate and one cup has broken handle; rest shows just traces of lt. wear and are VF-Exc.
