Item Description
3-5/8x6.5x11-5/8" tall tin litho wind-up w/built-in key on side and built-in on/off switch. Chein, © KFS, 1930s. Classic toy depicts Popeye at carnival style strength tester/bell ringer game. Two sides depict comic scenes showing Popeye boxing (w/Wimpy as referee) and chasing cheese truck (w/Olive Oyl in bkg.) , both w/facsimile Segar signature. Toy has original jointed arms, mallet and pipe. When wound, Popeye lowers mallet striking lever, which sends small brass weight up to ring bell. Works well. Both lever and bell have some lt. oxidation and scattered tiny paint nicks/scratches. Toy has overall lt. aging to paint and would benefit from a cleaning. Displays Fine.
