Item Description
7.25x11.75" sheet of stiff art paper has three different designs in ink and watercolor for premium cloth patches prepared for Kellogg's but never put into production. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and dates to 1946 when they did a similar proposal for Superman Tattoo Transfers; which we sold the original art in our July 2015 auction for $2,783. Sheet has "Superman Cloth Patches - (Actual Size)" penciled text at bottom. Left image features "Superman Smashing Thru A Steel Door" w/hand-lettered text. Center image features Superman's "S" symbol. Right image features classic portrait image of Superman from waist up w/hands-on-hips and "Superman" comic book title/logo above. Additional pencil notation at top, though this is not really legible. Center image has trace remnants from piece of tape. While this is not overly distracting, center image displays Fine. Others are NM. Great dynamic Superman art, a truly unique item for the Superman collector. Franco Toscanini Collection.
