Item Description
1.75" with curl naming maker Offset Gravure Corp. Front text includes "Lou 'I'm A Bad Boy' Costello For Mayor Of World's Fair Midway." Bottom text is "Abbott For Commissioner Of Laffs." No back paper as typical although we've seen one or two with back paper from the exhibit "Streets Of Paris." Those had a serial number that could be matched to a number posted outside the exhibit of Michael Todd's Hall Of Music each evening to gain a free admission. Those papers must have been inserted for certain days only and Bud & Lou must also have been associated with the exhibit on a continuing basis as we have seen a flyer from that exhibit promoting this button with the phrase "Button, Button-Whose Got The Lucky Button?" Flyer also stated the comedy duo made appearances at "Street Of Paris" to distribute their "Campaign Buttons." There are numerous modern crude fakes of this button. This is the original distributed at the fair in 1939. Scarce and NM displaying Mint. Our last realized in excess of $200.
