Item Description
10.5x14.5" w/four single-sided pages (not including covers). Saalfield Pub. Co. #177. ©1940 Superman, Inc. This variety differs in that pages are printed on stiff paper rather than cardboard w/pieces designed to be cut out, not perforated as to be punched out. This variety features same contents including four separate Superman images in various action scenes but in some different page configurations. Of note, Superman archnemesis Lex Luthor is depicted as he first appeared in the comics, w/a full head of red hair. A few minor pinch creases to spine w/some scattered color rubs. Front cover has bottom right image of deep sea diver partially cut out, but rest remains uncut/unused. VF overall. Pages remain uncut and clean, w/bright colors. NM overall. A high grade example. As rare as the other variety of this book is, this variety is more rare, and this is only the second example we've offered in our 49 years; the last example was a higher grade example from the Franco Toscanini Collection, selling for over $7,000.
