Item Description
Published in "Cracked" #115 in March 1974. Lot consists of complete five-page story on thin artboards measuring 13.75x17.5" w/India ink and ink wash original art by John Severin. "M.U.S.H." spoofs "M.A.S.H." w/caricatures of main characters Hawkeye, Trapper John, Hot Lips, Radar, Lt. Col. Henry Blake and a character that looks like John Wayne. Of note, "Cracked" mascot character Sylvester P. Smythe appears in foreground of one panel, carrying box of "Powdered Eggs." Story deals w/cast being comically inept at their surgical duties, including replacing one soldier's arms w/legs. Story ends w/the "M.A.S.H." unit being disassembled due not to poor ratings but because of peace. Two panels include handwritten notes, but o/w all captions and dialogue are paste-overs. Each page has inked note at top w/story name/page number and handwritten magazine title/issue number. Margins have some editorial notes. Pin holes along top/bottom margins. Pages have some lt. even aging/handling wear but are VF overall w/Exc. art. Superb and dense graphics throughout w/much humor.
