The 1968 Winter Olympics (Les Xes Jeux olympiques d'hiver), officially known as the X Olympic Winter Games, was a Winter multi-sport event which was celebrated in 1968 in Grenoble, France and opened on Feb. 6, 1968. Offered here is a bronze participation medal, measuring 2-5/8" (68mm) dia. Designed by J.M. Coeffin, the obverse features high relief Greek style head of an athlete w/elaborate snowflakes in bkg. Reverse features Grenoble cityscape surrounded by text. Exc.
