Item Description
17-5/8x22" artboard has 13x16.5" mixed media image area featuring original art by Bob Clarke (1926-2013), an American illustrator best-known for his work w/"Mad" magazine. Art depicts the Statue of Liberty w/her gloved fist raised in a Black Power salute. This art was published as a mini-poster in "Mad Special" #4 in 1971. One of 16 mini-posters offered within the magazine, mini-poster featured "My Country... Right On!" text. Clarke has signed his name at lower right. Artboard has acetate overlay attached w/tape at top margin (w/remnants of paper overlay that has since been removed). Artboard has scattered aging surrounding art and is Fine overall, while art remains bright, clean and would display NM if matted and framed. Comes w/reading copy of the issue this art was published in.
