Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 8.75" tall tin litho and plastic wind-up w/built-in key. Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1970s. "UFO Robot Grendizer" was a super robot TV anime/manga created by manga artist Go Nagai. The third entry in the Mazinger trilogy, it was broadcast in Japan Oct. 1975 to Feb. 1977. The robot's first US appearance was as a part of Mattel's famed "Shogun Warriors" toyline, where he was known as Grandizer. Box shows obvious wear w/heavy creases and corner tip wear. VG overall, but one main panel of box remains nice for display. Grendizer has just some lt. scattered wear in the form of some paint nicks/scratches and is VF overall. Works.
