Item Description
13" tall jointed doll by Ideal Novelty & Toys Co. 1940. Doll features composition movable head and upper body while rest of body is wood and jointed. Doll is in original state w/no restoration. Face retains its original layer of thin composition and has a few scattered hairline craze marks at hairline as is typical. Trace of wear w/typical lt. paint wear at joints. Superman's "S" chest decal has tiny nick at center and is 98% complete. Torso has a couple stress lines just above waist that are not greatly distracting. Top of back of neck has 1/8x.5" area missing top layer of paint, but this is not visible from front and can be easily hidden by movable head. Neck has a couple tiny pinpoint age spots. Belt decal shows moderate wear w/several flakes, including at copyright text on back. About 60% of belt decal remains. Cape is original and complete and aside from very lt. fade at top, retains deep red color (usually found either missing, incomplete or faded). Exceptional condition example, makes for VF/Exc. display. As nice as these come and a key piece for any Superman collection.
