Item Description
14" tall doll w/composition head (w/replaced oilcloth hat brim) and body w/painted wood jointed arms/legs. Ideal, ©1935 KFS. Chest has "Popeye" name/copyright decal and collar is molded as part of composition body as opposed to being felt as seen on item #0000. Decal has some small flakes to "Features Syndicate" text, but "Popeye" name and copyright are complete. Doll is complete w/original wooden pipe. Wood jointed areas exhibit wear and composition head/torso show some scattered wear w/typical crazing on head, most evident to top of hat, chin and back of head; all appears to have stabilized. Second button on shirt is missing about 50% of yellow paint while third button is missing all yellow paint. Tightly strung and stands upright for display. Fine/VF overall. Scarce large size.
