Item Description
Lot includes 10x13.75" heavily worn pressbook for the original 1949 release of the Columbia serial starring Robert Lowery as Batman and Johnny Duncan as Robin. Front cover features great poster art image and sample of "Batman" comic strip. Typical pressbook contents, w/various advertising prospects and promotional items listed/pictured. Some include "Batman And Robin Club" punch card that allowed viewer to have card punched for first 14 chapters of serial, allowing for free viewing of last chapter; lobby standee, coloring contest, ad mats, promotional newspaper text, photos and art throughout. Inside back cover features example of "Batman" comic strip and back cover shows one-sheet, three-three and six-sheet posters for the serial. Cover is loose (as are interior pages), w/tape repair to spine interior to hold front/back cover together. Good/VG but pages are complete and free of any clips. Scarce. Comes w/7.75x10.5" four-page pressbook for later re-release. Includes some of the same content, including ad mats and posters as well as the "Batman And Robin Club" punch card. Exc.
