Item Description
High quality 8-5/8x11-1/8" hardcover w/embossed gold foil cover and 272 pages. Published by Striking Impressions, 1998. Book is an unauthorized biography and career retrospective of Golden Age Batman artist Dick Sprang (1915-2000) and is fully illustrated in both full color and bw w/rarely seen Sprang art from throughout his career. It includes photos, interviews, illustrations and articles and comes w/an "Errata, Disclaimer And Notes" sheet. Book's production run was strictly limited to 200 copies by DC Comics due to use of their characters and was conceived, produced, published and privately distributed (not sold) to a small circle of friends and Sprang admirers. Page opposite table of contents has been boldly signed by Sprang in black felt tip pen and has also been hand-numbered 176 of 200. As a small run book, the pages were glued in for publication and due to aging of the glue, a few pages are loose here and there. Book is o/w clean w/just some minor corner tip wear and Exc. overall.
