Item Description
The four smaller metal pieces are 7/8" to 3" tall. First is a charm with "GAR" on the front and reverse text naming "31st Encampment August 1897 Buffalo." Small dent on front rim at 2 o'clock. VF. Next is figural canteen with "GAR" at center and surrounding text "38th Nat. Encampment Pittsburgh." NM. Third on a brass stickpin is brass piece with reflective varnish front around raised brass "GAR" initials. Reverse shows running buffalo with text for "31st National Encampment Buffalo, N.Y." NM. Fourth is from the same event in Buffalo and this one carries 1897 date. NM. The first three ribbon badges are 7-8" tall with the final piece 4" tall. First is also from Buffalo 1897. This includes cello hanger and riveted on cello showing GAR badge. Light wear on the metallic fringe below but all but one seem to be present. Minor dust soil on the fabric. Celluloid is clean. Next is rare ribbon for 30th anniversary celebration with ribbon text "Veteran/Gettysburg/July 1-2-3/1893." Beautiful brass hanger, although with four dark tarnish marks, shows crossed rifle, saber and vertical cannon barrel with text "New York Day" with the left and right ribbon designs dated for 1863/1893. Third ribbon is for 1904 event worn by a "Committee" member for the "Reunion/Army Of The Potomac/Dept. Of Connecticut." Last piece has brass hanger with design symbolizing military engineers. Bottom of this has a loop but nothing there and reverse has small archival tape repair to a .5" horizontal split near the top of the ribbon. Text reads "43rd Annual Reunion/Engineer Brigade/Army Of The Potomac/Corning, N.Y. Aug. 28, 1913." These four ribbons are all Fine or better.
