Item Description
5.5x8.5" card stock mailer has printed recipient name/address and features then unnamed bear mascot character promoting various Tootsie Roll products/packages. 1958. Front has "Enjoy A Tootsie Roll Today" stamp w/image of candy. Mailer opens fully to 11x16-7/8" and notes "Name The Bear" contest that would appear in 31 different comic book titles, examples shown include "Superman" #124 and "Wonder Woman" #101 as well as "The Adventures Of Bob Hope, The Adventures Of Jerry Lewis, Hopalong Cassidy" and others. Opposite page features photos of TV stars that also promote Tootsie Roll candy, including George Reeves as Superman. Folded as issued w/scattered aging. 1" separation at edge of mail-in card, o/w VF overall. Rare promotional item and first we've seen in our 49 years. Franco Toscanini Collection.
