Item Description
22x35". Cardboard poster advertising "Brute's Annual Summer Arts Festival And Camp In" from Friday August 23 to Sunday 25, 1974. Additional text boasts "72 Hours Of Continuous Entertainment" and "Featuring Top Acts From Baltimore, Washington, Richmond." Most notable is "Special Guest Gil-Scott Heron." 10" stain at lower left corner and 3x12" damp stain along top right from corner extending to near center. Small loss at bottom right corner and overall moderate handling wear including stress lines and minor edge tears. Good/VG. Scott-Heron is most notable for his spoken word song "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" which became a rallying cry for the Black Power movement in the early 1970s. Concert material related to Scott-Heron is very rare. This is the only example of this poster we have encountered and we could not locate one in any institutional archive.
