Item Description
Each is 2.25", the first with no maker name and the second naming maker Slater on the curl. Both buttons have text referring to the June 15, 1977 trade of pitcher Tom Seaver to the Cincinnati Reds. This event became known as the "Midnight Massacre." Shea Stadium was called "Grant's Tomb" after Donald Grant, chair of the team board, who ordered the trade after a contentious contract dispute. These are items #19-20 on page #236. Both are NM displaying Mint. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
