Item Description
10-7/8x16.25" thin artboard features artist Tom Grummett's pen and ink original art for first page of the April 1989 issue of "Secret Origins" #39, published by DC Comics. Grummett is best-known for his work as penciller on titles such as "The New Titans, The Adventures Of Superman, Superboy, Robin, New Thunderbolts" and "Heroes." Five panel page features retelling of Animal Man's origin, showing Buddy Baker leaping away from attacking tiger only to be confronted by enraged gorilla. Last panel feature Buddy stuck between the two beasts. Page has been inked by Doug Hazelwood, who has signed in blue ink at bottom center. Top margin has production notations w/stamped title and inked issue/page number. Top margin has been clipped/trimmed, though not affecting art in any way. Top/bottom center margins have thin strips of tape. Fine/VF overall w/Exc. art.
