Item Description
Lot of three posters featuring art by famed circus artist Lawson Wood. 1940s. 27x41" poster features wonderful art showing line of monkeys entering Big Top, paying "Admission 2 Nuts" to elephant who holds out pot to collect nuts. Monkeys are entertained by multi-instrument playing monkey as clown pig peeks out of tent. Poster has been folded into quarters and rolled. Top center fold line has .5" tear and upper left corner has .25" pull. Fine overall. Comes w/two smaller 7.75x10.5" mini posters featuring Wood's art, including one w/same art as larger poster. Other mini poster shows trio of monkey clowns performing tricks w/circus elephant. These mini posters were attached to Christmas cards sent out by the bill posting department of the circus. Exc.
