Item Description
14x22" thin cardboard poster for June 29, 1939 concert that took place at the Crystal Ballroom in Cumberland, MD that featured Jimmie Lunceford and the Lunceford Trio - Willie Smith, Sy Oliver (who worked w/Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, etc.) and Eddie Thompkins - Trummie Young (who was a Louis Armstrong All-Star for several years), Dan Grissom and Joe Thomas. Poster features large photo portrait of Lunceford. Poster shows obvious aging/wear w/moisture staining along margins, 1x3.5" area of darker staining at top center, corner tip wear w/two areas w/pieces out of upper right corner. Right and lower left margins have strips of dark age spotting. VG.
