Item Description
In Hawaiian mythology, the Menehune are said to be a people, sometimes described as dwarfs in size, who live in the deep forests and hidden valleys of the Hawaiian Islands, far from the eyes of normal humans. Offered here are a matched pair of hard plastic advertising figures w/original fabric outfits released by United Airlines in the 1960s, standing between 26" and 27.5" tall. Man and woman both wear traditional pattern fabric sarongs, the woman has separate vinyl flower lei about her neck. Base of each have raised "United Airlines - The Menehune Of Hawaii" text on front, man's base showing more moderate wear. Scattered aging and wear, w/a few paint marks on woman's face. VF overall. Scarce travel displays.
