Item Description
10.25x12.5" sheet of animation paper has image area done in pencil showing 14 images of Superman's head (one including shoulders) in various poses and expressions. Art dates to 1941, the first year Fleischer Studios' "Superman" cartoons were distributed by Paramount Pictures. Art has handwritten production notations in pencil by two head images, one reading "Lose Nose Lines On Face Turning" w/arrow pointing to nose while other reads "1/2 Height." Sheet has all over handling wear w/numerous small handling creases and top center hole punch has .25" piece out of margin and tiny nick w/some surface paper loss. This does not affect art in any way. Right margin has two tears; .5" to .75" w/tape repair on reverse. Sheet is Fine overall, but art remains clean and Exc. All Fleischer Superman art is rare and this is a truly exceptional example. Franco Toscanini Collection.
