Item Description
3.75" long tin litho friction airplane w/4.5" wingspan. Schuco, 1927. Made after aviator Charles Lindbergh's historic transatlantic flight, toy features tin Lindbergh pilot figure from the waist up, his torso and arms as well as period aviator helmet have been flocked. Pilot wears pain of thin tin goggles. Wing has "N-X-211" designation, the very same that appeared on the actual aircraft. Sides of plane's body read "Lindbergh" and "New York - Paris," indicating his flight path. Schuco mark behind propeller that manually spins. Friction works. All over aging and scattered lt. wear. Fine overall. Scarce.
