Item Description
17x25" frame contains complete and unpunched thin cardboard sheet that has been matted to 11.75x19.5". Sheet contains parts for "Marshall Field & Company Funny Paper Puppets" stage as well as 14 punch-out puppets of popular comic characters including - Andy Gump, Chester Gump, Dick Tracy, Junior, Skeezix, Uncle Walt, Kayo, Moon Mullins, Sandy, Little Orphan Annie, Smitty, Herby, Lillums and Harold Teen. Each has oversized head and were designed to be folded so mouth could be made to appear as if talking. Many of these same characters are also depicted surrounding the stage. 1935. Some loose perforations w/slivers missing at lower left/right, but these pieces were designed to be discarded and do not greatly detract from display appearance. Sheet has even aging and displays Fine/VF as framed.
