Item Description
Partially printed document signed boldly at conclusion "Theodore Roosevelt" and counter signed at left by Sec. of the Treasury "L. M. Shaw." Official notice of appointment for "William F. Stone" as the "Collector Of Customs For The District Of Baltimore In The State Of Maryland" dated June 13, 1902. Loss at corners and scattered minor light brown dots of age toning. Remnants of old 1.5" tall matte board around majority of perimeter that has partially separated from document. Matte board does not affect the text or signatures and could be matted out. Overall VG. Ink on hand inscriptions and signature of Shaw has aging that has caused bleeding at edges but the signature of Roosevelt remains Fine. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA/LOA.
