Item Description
4x6" cardstock sheet has mixed media original art full body sketch of Poppin' Fresh, more popularly known as the Pillsbury Doughboy, Pillsbury's mascot since his introduction in 1965. Art by comic book and commercial artist Martin Nodell (1915-2006), perhaps best-known as the creator of the comic book hero Green Lantern. Nodell was also involved w/the Leo Burnett Agency of Chicago, doing commercial work, where his team developed Poppin' Fresh. Nodell has signed art in black ink, adding "Designer Of Pillsbury's Doughboy." Nodell displayed this art at his table at various comic book conventions over the years, never offering it for sale. Art was obtained from his estate some years after his death. Exc.
