Item Description
1.5x2.25" Cuban card produced for the Aguilitas Cigarette brand and a follow up to the 1924-25 series. The baseball cards are a subset featuring 37 players from the Cuban Professional League. This extensive 900 card set also featured movie and stage stars, boxers, soccer players and other subjects.
Ricardo Torres played in the majors over parts of three seasons for the Washington Senators from 1920-22 with a very respectable stat line of .297/.324/.658 in limited play. He also had a long career in the Cuban Winter league primarily with Habana but also with the Orientals, with a stat line of .213/.256/.517 as well as spending time in the Negro Leagues with Long Branch Cubans and the Jersey City-Poughkeepsie Cubans over parts of two years with a stat line of .204/.204/.447. This card has a grade of 40 VG 3 and is designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
