Item Description
Unlisted and only the second we've seen. This 1-7/8" highly embossed thin brass shell with soldered vertical stickpin is finished in a dark copper glossy luster. The piece shows Uncle Sam full figure with a greatly expanded waist line pleading his case post-1898 Spanish-American War that "Expansion Is Not Imperialism." This is the same theme as on the "Pro-Expansion" McKinley button Hake #299 for which there is a matching "Anti-Expansion" celluloid for Bryan cataloged as Hake #408. This outstanding item from the 1900 campaign is NM and rare.
