Item Description
25.75x26.75". Screen printed on mesh fabric. Outstanding graphic of a Colonial American holding a large key extending a hand to a donkey dressed in 1930s period attire w/text above. Top right corner has 1.75" area of surface paint loss exposing mesh beneath. Bottom edge and lower half of left edge have heavy chipping and scattered losses. Two 1" vertical separations between "Welcome" and "Delegates" at top and light gray surface wear along top margin. Good. Clearly this piece saw serious use but this is the first we can recall encountering in our 50 years. Rare artifact of the historic Philadelphia convention that nominated Franklin D. Roosevelt.
