Item Description
1.25". Obverse depicts a prisoner chained in his cell gnawing on a bone w/text around rim "Before The Revolution" and date at bottom "1795." Reverse shows a seated Britannia holding a staff from which a liberty cap is falling w/text "Rouse Britannia!" A tiny 1/8" dot of tarnish at base of Britannia otherwise a super clean and very sharp example. Exc. Ted Watts Collection. See previous lot for additional history of Spence.
