Item Description
Pair of vintage large format Saalfield coloring books featuring same cover art but different contents. 10-7/8x15.25" No. 1501, ©1940 Superman Inc. 48 pages featuring nice action Golden Age illustrations of Superman; title page and 22 images have been neatly colored w/crayon, colored pencil and one w/watercolors (bleeding slightly onto next page). Cover has scattered dust soiling and edge/corner tip wear. Pinch creases to spine. Contents are tanned w/age but pages remain supple. Fine/VF. 10.75x14" No. 1151, ©1957 NCP, Inc. 16 pages featuring Silver Age art. One page has been neatly colored w/another page having small bit of coloring. Inside page cover has some crayon markings. Cover has edge wear w/two small tears to front cover and repair to .75" tear. "Superman" title also has some color touch-ups. Pages have aged to lt. cream in color and a few have corresponding .75" tear, VG overall. Franco Toscanini Collection.
