Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 4.25x4.5" die-cast metal and plastic toy made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1977. "Chodenji Machine Voltes V" was a Super Robot anime series which first aired on TV Asahi on June 4, 1977 to March 25, 1978. This robot's first US appearance was as part of Mattel's famed "Shogun Warriors" toyline. Box is complete w/original Styrofoam insert and shows scattered edge/corner tip wear w/some scattered surface paper lifts. Fine overall. Vehicle comes w/small pilot figure in cockpit that opens. Toy served as Voltes V's head, combining w/other toys in the series to create the entire robot. Pair of spring-loaded missile launchers at tips of wings. Comes w/original plastic bag containing plastic missiles and illustrated Popy catalog. NM as packaged. Also comes w/two illustrated sheets, one w/detailed Voltes V diagram and another illustrated Popy catalog. Scarce first version in green box.
