Item Description
27x40" original release one-sheet for 1950 Republic 15 chapter serial that starred Kirk Alyn as Superman. For Chapter 4, "Superman Meets Atom Man!" Poster features choice artwork plus inset film scene, featuring Lois Lane w/Atom Man in cave. Poster was originally folded and has now been linen-mounted w/some scattered restoration, including margin fill-ins, repairs to tears and some scattered color touch-ups. While poster has been linen-mounted, margins have been slightly trimmed, most notably along top/bottom margins, which are somewhat uneven, w/tiny margin chips at top. VG overall, but main poster image remain bright and clean and would make for nice display if matted and framed. This poster was from the personal collection of "Superman" actor Alyn (see other poster from this collection, #1915), and comes w/pair of 8x10" photos of Alyn as Superman and Black Hawk, both having been inscribed and signed to same person, w/Alyn adding character names. Exc. Lot also includes 5-3/8x8.5" book "A Job For Superman!" that was written by Alyn and ©1971. Title page has also been signed to same person as photos, w/Alyn adding "Superman" name. Cover is evenly aged but book is VF/Exc. overall. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA COAs.
