Item Description

27x40" original release one-sheet for 1948 Columbia 15 chapter serial that starred Kirk Alyn as Superman. For Chapter 5, "A Job For Superman." Poster features choice artwork plus inset film scene, featuring Superman throwing criminals into one another. Poster was originally folded and has now been linen-mounted. Margins have restoration including five approx. 1" square replacements; at upper right corner, bottom corners and left/right center margins. Upper left corner has .25" tear. While poster has been linen-mounted, margins have been slightly trimmed, most notably along top margin, which is somewhat uneven. Bottom margin shows less notable trim. VG overall, but main poster image remain bright and clean and would make for nice display if matted and framed. This poster was from the personal collection of "Superman" actor Alyn, and comes w/handwritten letter from him dated Jan. 1, 1989 and noting that posters (see following item #1916) had been in his collection since original release. Alyn has signed at bottom. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA COA.
