Item Description
20x30 poster for c. 1900 Lyceum Theater performance in London, England. Poster art by George Scotson Clark features top hat-wearing man w/chicken enjoying the sun's rays as swallow flies overhead. Poster was for actor and later playwright William Sydney Penley (his most famous play being the comedy "Charley's Aunt"), who both wrote and starred in "A Little Ray Of Sunshine". Poster was printed by Wieners Ltd. of London. Poster has been mounted on larger sheet of paper and then linen-mounted. Originally folded, poster has some corner creases and scattered margin dust soiling and tears/repairs. Upper right corner has been reattached. VG/Fine. Very rare.
