28x42" thin paper poster for c. 1940 battle of the big bands advertised as "First Time In Musical History, Two Female Leaders To Battle - The Queen Of Swing Edith Curry And Her Famous Orchestra Vs. The Brown Bombshell Of Rhythm Joan Lunceford And Her Orchestra." Poster features early use of boxing style w/two poster-like image for each African-American led big band, w/large unused marquee at top for show info. Poster has scattered margin wear, w/a few small edge tears and handling creases. Horizontal crease across top. Fine/VF.
