Item Description

21x27" poster on thin pink paper stock is one of the earliest motion picture posters known, and was used to promote home theaters sold by Sears & Roebuck for both home and professional use. c. 1902. The poster advertises Optigraph Moving Picture Machines w/"Scenes Of The Late War With Spain, Railroad Trains Coming At Full Speed," etc. Poster also advertises Stereopticon exhibition of "Our New Possessions." Bottom of poster shows a pre-printed section regarding price of admission and show times. Poster exhibits obvious margin wear, w/some small slivers off upper left and 3" area w/ragged edge along bottom. Poster also has noticeable fade at top and along left and upper right margins. VG.
