Item Description
35" long wooden Fred Clarke "model" bat w/his incised facsimile signature. 1910s. Clarke (1874-1960) was a MLB player from 1894 to 1915 and manager from 1897 to 1915. A Hall of Famer, Clarke played for and managed both the Louisville Colonels and Pittsburgh Pirates. Knob has incised Spalding trademark/logo denoting this was a store sold bat, not a game used bat as those had unmarked knobs. Bat has had well done overall restoration including touch-ups to scattered nicks/dings and now has a nice clean appearance for display. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
