Item Description
1.75" w/Baltimore Badge Co. back paper and three 5.5" long ribbons attached under the collet on reverse. Ribbons read "President/Roosevelt/York, PA October 4th, 1906." Produced for Roosevelt's visit to the York County fair and, given the extreme rarity, likely only issued to dignitaries at the event. Pristine condition w/almost no surface wear and only a trace of age toning to the ribbons. Essentially Mint as made. Two staff members, raised in York, who have scoured the area as professional collectible dealers for over 50 years had never seen any example of this badge. In further research we could not locate any examples in local institutions and we believe this is the first appearance of this badge in commerce.
